Quistor at the JD Edwards Update Event Benelux 2022
21 April 2022 – The JDE Update Event is a yearly event, powered by the Oracle Benelux User Group (OBUG), Oracle & JDE partners. The event is all about the latest updates around Oracle’s JD Edwards. Unfortunately, the organization was obliged to postpone last year’s edition due to the Covid situation in the Netherlands at the time. It was decided to move the event to spring 2022. And finally, the day was there!
Quistor was very happy to be present at the event and was also one of the main event’s sponsors. After just having online contact with partners and customers for a long time, it was finally possible to see each other in person at an event again. And what a great experience that was.
Together with other partners and JD Edwards users, we were immersed in updates on JDE during the entire day. After a warm welcome from the OBUG, Mark Herwege (Senior Solution Engineer at Oracle) gave an interesting keynote about leveraging the JD Edwards Extensibility Framework to eliminate customization and optimize user experience. A good start of the day.
Break-out session by Quistor: Interfood’s migration to OCI
The keynote session was followed by three rounds of break-out sessions, which consisted of nine sessions in total. During each round, visitors could choose to attend one of three sessions which they found most interesting. Quistor got the opportunity to present during two of the sessions.
During the morning session, Phillipe Jacquemin (Enterprise Architect at Interfood) spoke about Interfood’s Oracle JD Edwards & Database migration to the Oracle Cloud together with Sales Director Tim de Nijs (Quistor). Philippe provided insight on Interfood’s JD Edwards history, the selection process for a migration partner and the migration itself, including the objectives and challenges.
Thought Leadership session by Oracle
Just before lunchtime, a Thought Leadership session took place. During this informal session, visitors were given the opportunity to ask questions and share success stories and wishes with Martin Verheem (Account Director Benelux at Oracle), Jan Jaap Dekker (Sales Director HCM Cloud – until recently Sales Director Apps Unlimited – at Oracle), Mark Herwege (Senior Solution Engineer at Oracle) and Bart Vanden Abeele (Master Principal Sales Consultant at Oracle).
Break-out session by Quistor: Quaker Houghton’s JDE security
After a nice lunch, where there was time to catch up, Serge Desloover (Account Manager at Quistor) climbed on stage to present another break-out session. During his presentation, he elaborated on the JD Edwards security of one of Quistor’s customers, Quaker Houghton. He explained why Quaker Houghton had decided to make dramatic changes to their security approach, what they wanted to achieve and how they did this. He gave a clear and honest insight into a topic that affects almost all of us, and he elaborated on a very interesting solution approach.
Between the different keynotes and break-out sessions, Marcel Harmsen provided the entertainment. With original and funny self-made songs related to IT and JD Edwards, he created a great atmosphere. He also arranged a small wheel of fortune competition in which some visitors could win nice prizes.
The day ended with a live connection from the USA, where Keith Sholes (Senior Director Product Manager at Oracle) told us all there is to know about JD Edwards Release 22.
We enjoyed a great event at a beautiful location in Geertruidenberg together with other JDE partners and users. Thanks to the great company, interesting sessions, and good food, it was a very successful day. We are happy that after the COVID-19 pandemic everything is slowly getting back to how it should be.
